Does Montessori accreditation matter when choosing a school?
It is a useful signal and worth asking about everywhere you visit — ask which body, at what level, and when it was last renewed, and expect to be shown something in writing.
Because ‘Montessori’ is not a protected term, membership or accreditation from a recognized body is one of the few external checks available. Treat a vague answer at any school as an answer in itself.
It is not the only signal, and it is not a substitute for standing in the room. A school can hold a membership and still run a timetable that shreds the work cycle. Look at both.
