We want every parent to be able to use this site — on a phone, with a screen reader, with the text size turned up, or without a mouse. This page explains what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something is in your way.

Adjust the site to suit you
Every page carries an accessibility button in the bottom-left corner. It opens a menu of adjustments that take effect immediately and are remembered on your device.
- ProfilesOne-tap groups of settings for motor, visual, cognitive and seizure-safe browsing, if you would rather not adjust things individually.
- Text and readingLarger text, adjustable letter, word and line spacing, a dyslexia-friendly typeface, text alignment, and a reading guide or reading mask to keep your place.
- Color and contrastHigh contrast, inverted colors, increased or reduced saturation, and a monochrome mode.
- Navigation aidsHighlighted links and headings, a larger cursor, and a control to stop animations and transitions.
- It remembers youSettings are stored on your own device, so they are still there next time. They are not sent to us.
The things that matter more than a widget
An accessibility menu helps, but it cannot rescue a badly built page. These are structural.
- Real text, not pictures of textIncluding the tuition tables. On the school’s previous website the entire price list was a PNG image, which a screen reader cannot read at all — that was one of the first things we fixed.
- Keyboard navigable throughoutEvery link, menu, form control and the accessibility button itself can be reached and operated by keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to jump past the navigation.
- Structure a screen reader can followOne page title per page with headings in order, labelled form fields, descriptive link text, alternative text on meaningful images, and landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer.
- Contrast and scalingBody text meets WCAG AA contrast, and the layout reflows when text is enlarged or the window narrowed, without loss of content.
- Reduced motion respectedIf your device asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are turned off automatically.
- Tables that work on a phoneWide tables scroll sideways within their own frame rather than shrinking to unreadable, and each carries a heading outside the scrolling area.
Where we fall short
It would be easy to claim full conformance. This is the honest list, and we would rather publish it than have you discover it.
- Embedded mapsThe Google Maps panels on the visit and contact pages are third-party content we do not control and cannot fully remediate. The complete address and phone number always appear as text beside them.
- PDF documentsThe enrollment application, financial agreement and academic calendar were not produced by us and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Call the office and we will provide the same information in another format.
- Third-party fontsTypefaces load from Google Fonts. If they fail to load, the site falls back to system fonts and remains fully readable.

Common questions about accessibility
- How do I open the accessibility menu?Select the accessibility button in the bottom-left corner of any page. It can also be reached with the keyboard by tabbing to it. Your choices are saved on your own device and carry across the site.
- What can the menu change?Text size, letter and line spacing, contrast and color saturation, a dyslexia-friendly typeface, a larger cursor, a reading guide and reading mask, highlighted links, and stopping animations. There are also grouped profiles for motor, visual and cognitive needs, and for seizure safety.
- Which standard are you working to?WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard generally referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and under California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.
- Does the accessibility widget track me?No. Your preferences are stored on your own device so the site can remember them. They are not sent to us and are not used to identify you.
- What if I still cannot use part of the site?Call the school office at 650-616-9000 and tell us the page and what happened. We will fix it where we can, and in the meantime we will give you the same information another way — read over the phone, printed, or by email.
